Ellen Smith, PhD, JD is Associate General Counsel, Intellectual Property and Licensing at OmniAb. Dr. Smith previously held in house legal positions at both public and private biotechnology companies. Prior to that, Dr. Smith was an attorney at the international law firms of Perkins Coie and Foley & Lardner LLP where she specialized in intellectual property law. Dr. Smith earned a Bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology and Animal Physiology from Purdue University, a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of California-Irvine, a JD from Chicago-Kent College of Law, and an MBA from the University of California-San Diego.
